Before ordering equipment, a proper purchase order must be completed and approved by the administration. (see purchasing)
Equipment needs to last as long as possible, but must always be safe.
The surplus process for excess of damaged items must follow district procedures. This includes completion of the surplus form to the district office, and the bid process before the removal of items from campus.

- Try to purchase the best quality at the best price, with the best delivery program.
- Keep an updated inventory including the purchase dates and condition.
- Storage, care and upkeep are the head coach’s responsibility.
- Collect all equipment that is not purchased by the athletes at the end of each sport season. You are responsible for the collection of fines on lost or damaged equipment.
