Camps and Clinics
Coaches are encouraged to sponsor their own camps at school instead of paying other companies or colleges. This will help with camp cost, team philosophy, transportation, supervision, money, staying in school, etc. The high school and district have discretion over the following limitations.
Camp attendance cannot be required, used as part of your team selection or as part of lettering criteria. The members of the team must pay any transportation travel costs for camps or clinics. Out of Season Participation rules and Dead Time periods from the UHSAA must be adhered to (see page 31-34 UHSAA handbook, UHSAA Bylaws Article 2 Sections 2 & 3, found at http://www.uhsaa.org/2017-18handbook.pdf).
- Limiting teams to number of days of camp, number of camps, leagues, tournament or competitions (one team camp per sport, one individual camp per sport).
- Limitation on dollar amounts spent by individual should not exceed $250.
- Facilities must be scheduled through the athletic director. Work with other coaches to schedule times for camps.
