Athletic Department Awards:
The Black Watch and Queen of Scots Awards.
This is the most prestigious of the awards given by the Athletic department it emphasizes participation in multiple sports while attending Ben Lomond High School. Coaches will in encourage their athletes to work toward the Black Watch/Queen of Scots.
The following criteria is used when awarding the Black Watch/Queen of Scots:
Male and Female Scholar Athlete Awards
This award is given to the male and female athletes who have perfomed at a high academic level and participated significantly in the overall athletic program at Ben Lomond High School. Heavy consideration is given to Black Watch and Queen of Scots Award winners.
Outstanding Male and Female Athlete Awards
This award is presented to the male and female athletes who contribute to the overall athletic program. Heavy consideration is given to Black Watch and Queen of Scots Award winners.
A list of varsity letter winners and participant (which the level of participation) must be submitted to the athletic director prior to sports banquets. Each sports lists are kept on file in the athletic office. Changes in status of each athlete must be made within 2 weeks of each end of season sports banquet.
Individual Sports Awards
Coaches should arrange for a closing activity at the conclusion of each season. If the season end banquet is held coaches are expected to promote it and have their teams in attendance. The dates for the season banquets are listed below. Affordable awards that have intrinsic value to the participants should be considered.

The following criteria is used when awarding the Black Watch/Queen of Scots:
- All applicants must participate in a minimum of 6 out of 9 sport seasons during their sophomore through senior years.
- No applicant can earn more than 50 participation points in any sport season
- All applicants must have earned a minimum total of 375 points over the 3 years of athletic participation at Ben Lomond High School. (An application, which includes scoring criteria, is included in Appendix C).
- Athletes may not claim credit for sports that they quit or were dismissed from the team for any reason.
- Points may not be earned through participation at schools other than Ben Lomond High School
- Applications will be reviewed by a committee of Ben Lomond coaches.
- The committee reserves the right to disqualify any applicant
